The FLL guidelines describe in detail research methods for vegetation support course. Unfortunately, some of them are not used in Poland, which makes it difficult to compare the results. Hence a wide range of experiments and comparative research need to be done to establish the regulations for green roof substrates and to adjust them to Polish conditions.

The article describes the first research project on the subsoils for green roofs carried out at the Institute of Pomology and Floriculture in Skierniewice.
